I aim to inspire and empower others to live their best life through utilizing the skills I have acquired to develop online platforms that will encourage self-reliant, socially responsible, and innovative individuals. This includes bridging gaps that will lead to building stronger communities as a result of connecting people with similar goals, helping them gain new skills, and guiding them to live a balanced life. ☀️

Early Life 🐣

In 2015, I was homeless, but thanks to the help of a loving family I completed high school. After graduating, instead of going to college, I pursued building a tiny house so I’d never be homeless again. It turned out that the modeling skills I learned from high school were essential to creating a set of plans which got me hired as a finish carpenter at a tiny house company based in Walla Walla, Washington. This position led me to break into the cabinet manufacturing industry, where I worked closely with cabinet design software and CNC machines. ✏️

As a result of the lack of financial resources for self-building tiny houses, I took a second job in the Walla Walla restaurant industry, where I developed people and communication skills. I became more comfortable interacting with customers, and with the nature of fine dining, I also became more detail-oriented. Ultimately, through these skills, I was able to grow in the field of sales and social networking. 🔗

During the COVID-19 pandemic, construction was deemed non-essential, and I lost my job. So I started to look at different avenues to make an income because I could not and would not live on unemployment. I reconnected with web development and marketing, which led me to a position where I now use those skills to further establish company goals online. Thanks to software I have been blessed with a career. 🖥️

Education 🎓

The WGU Bachelor of Science Software Development online degree program was designed and is regularly updated, with input from the experts on our College of Information Technology Program Council, ensuring students learn the best practices in systems and services, networking and security, scripting and programming, data management, and the business of IT. This program is all about making outstanding software developers at the enterprise level. It is presented in two tracks to choose from, allowing students to become fluent in either Java or C#. The end result is the same for whichever track is chosen: Students will know how to program.

WWCC offers an Associate in Science Transfer (AS-T) Degree, Option II which is designed to prepare students for upper-division study in the areas of engineering, computer science, physics, and atmospheric science. NOTE: DEGREE WAS NOT COMPLETED DUE TO COVID-19 RELATED REASONS.

Activities and societies: Upward Bound (TRIO)

Columbia Basin Community College in the High School (CiHS) program allows high school students to take CBC courses from approved high school instructors without leaving their high school campus. Students can accelerate their academic studies by earning college credit while attending high school without giving up their high school experience.

Central Washington University College in the High School (CiHS) program allows high school students to take CWU courses from approved high school instructors without leaving their high school campus. Students can accelerate their academic studies by earning college credit while attending high school without giving up their high school experience.

Activities and societies: Speech & Debate Club, Delta Ambassador’s Club

The school’s courses are geared towards a heavy focus on the STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The study of English, Language Arts, and Social Studies is integrated with STEM subjects. Courses offered each year vary depending on the student population. Teaching methods emphasize student inquiry, problem-solving, and project-based learning. Graduating requirements are based on each school district’s requirements for total credits and minimum credits in each field of study.
